Ruby Trance Volume 6

Each year we present for you a CD which represents (to us) the best tracks that we have available to us at the time.  And, despite a significant downturn in the music industry caused by the MP3 explosion, we are pleased that the masters who write this stunning music are still there – each person or team contributing something special.  This year is no different. 

If we look back across the last 6 years (and our 6 CD's) you will certainly see a maturation in the style of this music.  It is sometimes hard to say if this is good, but anything that stagnates dies, and we can certainly say that this wonderful music is not dead.  It appears to us that the development of the music has also resulted in an increasing level of detail in the music.  When you have listened to this CD a few times, try turning the volume up and focusing on some of the sounds - you will only then discover the real beauty that lies beneath.

It is our view that each of our CD’s should open with a statement – a statement about where the CD is going to take you.  With Volume Six there is no change to this concept – the beautiful vocals of Marcella Woods in the classic “Love Shines Through” sets a standard and pace that will leave you breathless.    The remix we present for you is a specially produced master that has a detail and definition that has had people saying “unbelievable – its like hearing it for the first time”.  We leave you to be the judge.

Wilderness, featuring the amazing vocals is an extremely rare recording.  The arrangement of the music also shows Darren Tate (aka Jurgen Vries) at his best.  To our knowledge this remix has not been commercially available in Australia.

Aerial by Static Blue has a haunting melody and rhythm that causes us to go back again and again, each time discovering a new range of sounds that comprise this remarkable piece of music.

Y68 has a very beautiful choir used as an instrument, elevating this track to a special place.

Misconceptions is a little harder than we would normally play, but it has some fantastic sounds, and an energy that has placed it (somewhat to our surprise) as the peak track.

Magic Waters by Ace Da Brain (aka Adreas Schmidt) is a symphonic masterpiece with a level of detail in the recording that is almost hard to comprehend.  Every time you listen to it something more comes through.  An amazingly powerful piece of music, and a fitting close to this CD.

Most of the tracks are transferred from vinyl using a special Stanton Reference Master cartridge.  They are transferred at 96K sample rate, with a 32bit resolution.  This combination delivers a clarity and warmth that is unique to our CD’s.

This CD is intended to be (just like our others) a musical and emotional journey.  To really appreciate it, it is our view that you need to listen to the cd in its entirety – to let the energy and emotion build, and allow the production level in the music develop.
